2009 - 03 - 05 Josh Blue at UC Berkeley

On my 2nd day in Berkeley, we went to a comedian named josh blue...
Awesomely funny guy! Always making fun of gays and cripples...well he is partially allowed to since he is "special" himself...he has cerebral palsy, which for all you uneducated people means he is a spastic ;)
Nevertheless, awesome show, very funny guy!

Yeah, i am finally away from germany again ;)
right now i am sitting in the bed in axels room in berkeley, ca in the united states! 11:30 already, we should start doing something soon...
i arrived yesterday around 1pm at san francisco airport..getting into the states is really much easier than i though, or everyone told me...besides standing in line it took me around 3 minutes ;)

and really...everything here is totally clichelike and much bigger than in europe...university buildings, cars, people (big meaning fat ;) oh and the squirrels are twice as big as in germany...which is slightly weird ;)

okay, time to start the day, which would likely mean running through berkeley for me...

p.s. flying to the states in comparison to new zealand is a joke, an 11h flight...ts ts ts...oh, and flying over the arctic rocks big time!!!

Concert weekend - between the two best cities in Germany

Been watching gigs of bloc party and kings of leon 10 days ago...
Bloc party is awesome live!!! Period!

Kings of leon were kinda...strange...the singer didn't interact with the audience at all...and the audience itself was also very...female and weird...they went totally crazy dancing at the slowest songs...
However, Berlin was nice...awesome currywurst at 1pm and cheap beer everywhere...
Even the house I lived in in east Berlin does still exist;)

But this weekend, kele won against caleb...BIG TIME!

I don't get people...

...who always sit right next to other people on the bus or train...even if the rest of the train is almost empty and has shitoads of free private spaces...
Why are they doing that? Didn't they get enough love and cuddling when they were little?
Or do they just not want to ride backwards?
However, having a nice bagback on the seat next to you always helps...
If not I can always play out good old tourettes syndrom ;)

Too much white shit...

I took this pic last week... It snows too much around here...way too much...
Last Friday I almost missed my train cuz buses just stopped working for half an hour...

Tuesday it got even more creepy... There were like 5cm of really thick snow on my car... Hard to get rid of it...
And it only snowed here where I live... At work there was nothing, which is like 5km away...
I hate snow!

Well, enough boring snow stories... Gottago on being sick ;)

The bigass TV has landed!!!

There he is, my new tv...I had to wait half an hour in an ugly ups shop until a nice black man helped me to put it in the car ;)
My living room is almost only tv now ;)

Southern Germans are all Bloody Assholes

today we had an awesome experience with southern german again...
we were sitting on stairs in front of some cabin on the christmas market...as always...southern germans have to take the narrowest way, where people are sitting (cause they are retards)...then some hydrogenperoxide-blond chick came along and tripped over inigos feet (who was sitting there without moving and she could have easily avoided tripping over him). inigo apologized and you would think that this bitch would do the same...NO!!!
she replied:"Verdammt, man kann doch sehen dass ich hier lang gehe" - which translates as "FUCK, can't you see that I am walking here?"...
this was the point where i cracked...i screamed the following at her "man kann auch seine scheiss augen aufmachen und aufpassen wenn man sieht dass da jemand sitzt, du DUMME FOTZE!!!" - which translates as "You can also open your fucking eyes when you see someone sitting there, you STUPID CUNT!"...
she left instantly, and the family next to us almost kept the ears of their children shut (thy were looking at me very dissapointed)...

CONCLUSION: Southern Germans are all assholes, living in their fucking religious, little world where everyone is acting friendly as fuck and no one means it...we should disjoin germany below cologne (munich could become the new west-berlin)!

We Ruled the PUBQUIZ !!!

Yesterday we went to the pub (as we do often on thursdays 'cuz a pitcher of cider is only nine quid)...Once we sat down, we realized there was a pub quiz going, so we took part in it...

AAAAANNNDDD??? Who won??? WE DID!!! Okay...not that strange, since we are ambassadors of science and the other (10, ten !!!) teams comprised people from Heidelberg and an irish amateur football team...

Funny thing was the guy started announcing second places first and asked them another question becuase it was a tie...after that he said thanks and cya next weekend...
5 minutes later he came back and was like "err...who is them team predrunks 08?...cause they actually won..."

Monteretardo

why does embl put every outstation as far as possible outside of big cities??? and i complained about embl hamburg being in a shit location...its like in the center of the city in comparison to monteretardo !!!
oh, and it's about 18degrees outside....and i am inside listening to mouse-tales...it's interesting...but sun is more interesting nevertheless ;)

p.s. the hotel also sucks balls...and i didnt charge my cam...so i cant take pics...(have to buy an iphone soon...)

Heidelberg, Heidelberg

Hm...ich muesste mal wieder was schreiben, oder?
Heute war bin ich im Guest House geblieben...irgendwie waren 3 wochen nur 6h schlafen (Lectures um 9!!!) doch irgendwie zuviel...und nen Anflug von Grippe hatte ich auch...
Sonst ist hier alles gut, top leute zum rumhaengen (wird mit Sicherheit auch spaeter so bleiben, man kann sagen ich habe neue freunde gefunden ;)
Die Vorlesungen sind etwas viel...und teilweise einfach irrelevant fuer mich...aber, ich bin ja hier um meinen Horizon zu erweitern ;)
Naechste Woche endlich Proteomics und Strucural Biology !!! YEAH !!! Das We nach Hause (Schnuffi !!!) und danach nach Rom (Iphone !!!)
mehr faellt mir grade nicht ein, ich lad bald mal photos irgendwo hoch !!!

Hm...I do have to write sth. again, dont I?
I stayed at the awesome guest house today...somehow 3 weeks of only 6h of sleep (lectures at 9!!!) were a little bit too much...I also have some kind of Flu...
In spite of that, everythings great, awesome folks to hang out with (and it is gonna stay that way, one could say I also found new friends ;)
The lectures are a little bit too much...and partially also irrelevant for me...but, I am here to broaden my horizon ;)
Next week finnaly Proteomics and Structural Biology !!! YEAH !!! next weekend home (Schnuffi !!!) the one after that Rome (Iphone !!!)
I think thats all...I will upload photos somewhere soon !!!

Lustige Erlebnisse auf dem Weg zur Arbeit

Mann, Mann, Mann...
Heute morgen war ich noch schnell vor der Arbeit bei der Post um neue bescheuerte T-Shirts abzuholen...Auf dem Weg zum Bus liefen dann zwei aeltliche Frauen neben mir, eine mit nem grossartigen Hund, einer kleinen, dicken Britischen Bulldogge...
Es ist dann nur die hundelose Frau eingestiegen, die scheinbar gemerkt hat, dass ich den Hund ganz geil fand und hat mich mit dem Aufhaenger in ein Gespreach verwickelt...
Nach geschaetzten 0.005 Sekunden drueckte sie mir dann ploetzlich irgendwelche Kirchenflyer in die Hand (und Alexej, nem andren Predoc, der vor mir sass auch gleich)...Hier ein paar Auszuege aus dem weiteren Gespraechsverlauf:
"Man muss, die Bibel lesen, denn in der Schule oder ausm Fernsehen lernt man nicht wie man Kinder erzieht!"
- "Ich glaube das haben mir meine Eltern ganz gut beigebracht..."
"Aber wenn es nicht nach der Bibel war, war es nicht richtig"

"Sie sind auch einfach noch zu jung, um richtig zu glauben"
(Ha Ha...klar alte Frau...ich bin zu jung...vielleicht bin ich auch einfach zu klug um an ein Maerchenbuch zu glauben...und wenn wuerde ich noch eher an sonen quatsch, wie Scientology glauben...wobei...ne auch nicht...an Grimms Maerchen!!!)

Sie wollte dann noch meinen Namen wissen...Hat natuerlich gleich gemeint, dass es in der Bibel ja auch so viele Leute mit dem Namen Timotheus gebe...ich habe natuerlich auch gleich gesagt, dass der Name genau gar nicht zu mir passt (Timotheus = der Gottesfuerchtige) allerdings wusste sie nicht was Timotheus heisst --> zeigt wieder - glaeubige Leute sind meistens ungebildet (besteht da etwa ein Zusammenhang ;) ?)

Alexej hatte sich dazu die ganze Zeit sehr still verhalten (er war im Nachhinein froh, dass er kein perfektes Deutsch spricht)...sein erster Kommentar als sie raus war:"We should start the church of genomics and proteomics and start praying the word of DNA...'Hey, ever heard of DNA, it's the stuff everything is made of'"
-> oh ja, die Kirche der Genetik ;)

Freitag gehts zu Silke umziehen helfen und Sonntag dann nach Heidelberg...sonst ist alles fein fein ;)

Heute hat der Timmy auch mal endlich sein Diplomzeugnis bekommen!!!
Und:
Es steht eine 1.7 drauf !!!
Entweder habe ich mich verrechnet oder das Pruefungsamt (aber die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass ich es war ist gering...andernfalls sollte das Pruefungsamt das auch richtig machen...).
